It's My Park Day at Battle Bend Park: The event was a lot of fun. John Deutsch, a neighbor from the Battle Bend Springs area who happens to be a prefessional landscaper, organized the event and with a $200 grant from the City of Austin purchased a number of trees and flowers, which were planted by the volunteers. About 30 neighbors showed up to plant trees and flowers, create planting beds, and conduct some light pruning. It was clear that John and several others put a lot of effort into planning the event. Representatives of three of the five nearby homeowners' associations were present at the event.

The event was part of a bigger, citywide, volunteer event to improve Austin's parks and greenspaces. In fact, some of the crew that cleaned up our stretch of the Williamson Creek greenbelt stopped by Battle Bend Park report on the trash clean up.

The event is an annual event, so if you did not have time to make it out this year, you will have another chance next year.

New HOA President: Your Board of Directors has elected a new president to finish the year. Your new president is Jon Woo, of unit 5004. You should thank Jon for undertaking such tremendous responsibility though he is relatively new to the community. Thanks Jon!

NOTICE: A Light near the Fort Clark entrance to our property is currently not working. The Board is aware of the problem and the light will be fixed as soon as possible. Please be patient because this particular fix is much more complicated than anticipated given the antiquated nature of our infrastructure.

Building Colors: Many of you have asked for the color codes to get extra touch up paint for your unit. I have placed three of the six colors on the "good things to know" page and I will place the other three colors asap.
